Membership

Become a member of Instituto Cervantes New York, and help us promote the vibrant language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world. Membership will allow you to enjoy the Institute's multiple services. Visit our facilities, and get to know our broad array of activities. Located in the heart of Manhattan in the historic Amster Yard building, Instituto Cervantes New York´s mission is the diffusion of Spanish, and the culture of Spain, Latin America, and that of the Latinos of the United States.


Class Program

New York City's most comprehensive, flexible, dynamic and diverse program of Spanish language classes at affordable prices. With more than 40 highly qualified native instructors from all over the Spanish-speaking world, our academic program offers classes incorporating the most recent advances in language teaching. All levels of Spanish, in addition to a wide range of special courses such as classes for children; film, literature, wine and gastronomy seminars; courses tailored to corporations; courses in classic guitar; Spanish courses on the Internet (AVE) and preparatory courses for the official diploma in Spanish as a foreign language (DELE). Jorge Luis Borges Library

With more than 83,000 volumes, the Jorge Luis Borges Library offers one of the most extensive collections of Spanish language material in the United States. Quick, efficient, nationwide lending system. One of the most complete collections of Spanish Language movies (VHS, DVD and other formats). An extensive music collection. Resource center for Spanish as a foreign language with abundant materials for both students and teachers of Spanish. Guided group tours by appointment.


Cultural Activities

Instituto Cervantes New York offers one of the most dynamic cultural programs in the city. Centered on the cultural production of the Spanish-speaking world, activities include lecture series, round table discussions, concerts, film series and literary encounters.


Art Gallery

The Gallery of ICNY plays host to exhibits of contemporary as well as Spanish and Latin American art. See our cultural program for current exhibitions. Guided tours available for school groups.


Film Program

Every Wednesday of the year screenings are held in our auditorium. Our popular film series bring the best in cinema from Latin America and Spain.
